Old Business

  • Membership drive idea’s discussed to help with attrition of membership.
    1. Concerns were what is the value for a skydiver to become a Seattle Skydiver member.
      1. How can we build value in the Seattle Skydiver club?
        1. Jump discounts
        2. Other discounts
        3. Activities performed as a club on non skydive days
    2. New Skydiver Mentor program – idea to get new skydivers acclimated with Seattle Skydivers early in training.  Reduced membership fee during student status and remainder of membership paid upon licensing.  New Skydiver will be matched with a seasoned skydiver to mentor throughout the training program.
    3. Discussed modifying the online survey to include some more open ended questions as to what the membership and potential membership would see as a value to join Seattle Skydivers. Debbi Correia will own putting survey together.
    4. Discussed activities for non jump days and how Seattle Skydivers could build activities outside of skydiving.

New Business

  • Project Idea’s were discussed for the upcoming year.
    1. Club History – with the aging club membership, it was agreed upon that the club should gather information about earlier members of the club and how to preserve their memory.
    2. Drop Zone activities – idea’s to help out around the Skydive Snohomish and Mt. Vernon drop zones.

Safety Items and Announcements

  • Discussed the fatalities at Skydive Arizona on December 30 and 31.
  • Next General Membership meeting is on February 2, 2007 at 7:00pm at Todo Mexico in Snohomish.
