- 2007 Survey Results
- Discussed results of the 2007 survey (so far).
- The board nominated members and non-members for CJ to approach and ask for help on teaching weekly seminars/clinics starting on April 21st.
- The seminars/clinics will include first aid, freefly, relative work, canopy relative work, swooping, tracking, equipment and formation loads.
- More clinics may be offered depending on availability of members and non-members to help out.
- Safety Day will be held on March 10th at Skydive Snohomish.
- Christine Daniels will be taking care of the breakfast that morning.
- The breakfast will begin 1 1/2 hours prior to the start of Safety Day.
- Action Item: CJ will contact Elaine about donations of sausage and any other breakfast items from Buzz Inn and Heather Waldow about using building 15 on the airport.
- CJ mentioned that Tyson could use a few volunteers on Friday, March 9th to help set up the stations for the next day.
- It was decided that the club would spend the $300.00 approved by the membership at the Feb. 2nd meeting to buy the following:
- a Solo audible altimeter
- a Altimaster Galaxy altimeter
- and any misc. items to bring the total to $300.00.
- The items are to be purchased through Ralph Hatley in Oregon.
- CJ will be sending out to members and non-members asking for donations to Safety Day.
- CJ reported back to the board that Tyson Harvey would be willing to include practicing aircraft emergency exit procedures on the ground during one of the stations, but not an actual practice situation in the air.
- Hop and pops will most likely happen at the end of Safety Day with whatever daylight remains.
- CJ checked with the two primary pizza places in Snohomish regarding prices.
- Alfy's Pizza and Pizza Brava are within $.25 to $.50 of each other on all pizzas.
- Both locations offer 1/2 off for an order of 5 pizzas or more.
- The board asked CJ to double check with both locations regarding delivery of pizzas on time for Safety Day and those they could handle the number we order (approx. $150.00 worth).
- The board discussed and approved changing the signature card for the clubs bank accounts to include Deb Correia, Carol Kolasinski, Charlie Markin and Ryan Shipley.
- Bill Kelly's suggestions for the club this year were read by CJ.
- The board discussed ways to advertise the club to recruit new members and educate people about what the Seattle Skydivers do.
- It was mentioned that we should talk to Jim Perry about having a season opener when the Mt. Vernon drop zone opens in the spring/summer.
- CJ asked about moving the location of the club meetings since attendance is currently low. The board decided to keep it at Todo Mexico unless they approach us with any problems using the banquet room.
- Deb Correia reported back to the board on the Seattle Skydiver Calendars.
- Price range for having Seattle Skydiver Calendars made would be $12.00-$20.00 each depending on the company and what we want included.
- The board asked Kevin to get the clubs feedback on their level of interest in doing a calendar at the March 2nd meeting. If the membership is interested, we will plan on putting pictures together in time to have the calendars available in Dec. of 2007 for the 2008 year.
- Kevin Blair will be running the March 2nd meeting in CJ's absence. He was given the gavel and tickets for meeting.
- Next General Membership meeting is on March 2, 2007 at 7:00pm at Todo Mexico in Snohomish.
