Old Business

  • Safety Day Recap
    1. Breakfast
      1. 11 people volunteered to help.
      2. $43.75 donations towards breakfast.
      3. We spent $88 on breakfast.  We have data to track of food items not eaten this year so we don’t purchase same items next year.  CJ has surplus breakfast items.  Board decided to use items for either Al Zilk Memorial Meet or to let CJ keep surplus items since they will spoil and will most likely be thrown out anyway.
    2. Lunch
      1. Pizza lunch – 93 people signed in for Safety Day events.  CJ preordered 10 pizza’s for the day initially, but that number jumped up to 22 pizza’s.  Pizza’s were delivered promptly at 11:45am.  There were no leftovers.  Pizza cost $250
    3. Other Safety Busines
      1. CJ wants to make up spreadsheet (or other database) for Seattle Skydivers events to keep track of people, timelines, contributers who help out with Seattle Skydivers events and volunteer so we can thank them accordingly.
      2. Board wants to know is there a polite way to ask for donations from non-Seattle Skydivers.
      3. Seattle Skydivers is going to be in Parchutist magazine as a safety day sponsor
    4. Prizes
      1. Recommendation to start earlier in soliciting donations.  Recommendation to have prizes chosen by the committee rather than the person who wins the drawing.
  • Scheduling for Saturday Clinic
    1. When is the best time to have the clinic?  It was decided that we would start initially around 12:00pm.  Clinics should be brief (no more than 30 minutes)
      1. Clinic Topics
        1. April 21 - Asked Scott Calentine for dates in April – is willing to help out with videography.
        2. April 28 - “Skydive starts before getting in the plane” by Keith.
        3. May 5th (Opening)

        5. May 19th – Spotting by Keith
        6. May 26th – since this is Memorial Day weekend it was decided that we should not schedule any activities this weekend.

        9. June 16th – Tracking by Keith

  • Mt. Vernon Drop Zone update
    1. Jim Perry is back at Mt. Vernon.

    3. Spring Opener?  Volunteers for time and materials.  Jim will let CJ know what Seattle Skydivers can do to help.
  • April Club meeting date
    1. Date is on Good Friday, April 6.  Charles Markin is not in town on that day.  Bill Kelly is busy on the 6th.  CJ felt that this date is still good for the general membership.  Date will stay on May 6.
  • Al Zilk Memorial Meet
    1. Breakfast?  BBQ?  These ideas need to be brought up in front of the general membership.  The fee structure was discussed on how the jumps at the meet are priced.
    2. 2006 Al Zilk meet cost $250?
    3. CJ will talk to Tyson about date?
