General Membership Meeting Minutes – April 6, 2007

Proceedings: Meeting called to order at 7:30pm by CJ. Kolasinski.
No tickets were purchased.
Motion: Approve minutes from last meeting on March 2.

Treasurers Report
Old Business
- Safety Day
- 11 people volunteered to help.
- $43.75 donations towards breakfast.
- Recommended budget for $150 for Breakfast; $300 for pizza. Misc. $50 for a total of $500. Need
- Safety day prizes amount spent $283+$178. Recommended for 2008 budget - $300.
New Business
- Al Zilk Memorial Meet, Saturday, May 19.
- Operations will be shut down at airport.
- May 20 Rain Day (if it rains on May 19).
- General plan: Entry fee details to be worked out soon.
- Charlie moves to increase BBQ to $250 to sponsor a BBQ dinner. Competitor or club member $5. Non club member $8. Food will be Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Beans, etc. Tyson has charged a solid fee for competition and paid Seattle Skydivers $5 per head for meal. Kevin – 2nd. Motion. Motion approved.
- Breakfast has been a loss for the club in the past. Decided not to provide breakfast for Al Zilk meet this year. A question was raised - would it be easier to not have breakfast, but lunch. Could these meals be provided by DZ?
- Saturday Clinics
- Deb posted Saturday clinics online at www.seattleskydivers.org. If anybody wants to discuss other topics, please bring this to the attention of the board.
- New East Field
- New East Field is due East of the airport. Just east of the river. Suggested to keep posted abd alert of new restrictions. There is a junk yard to the north. Jumpers should not be over the junk yard. Lots of outs to the south of the field.
- Discuss another meeting location.
- A quieter place. Possibly Mardini’s? Temporary location – maybe classroom or loft at DZ?
- Set for agenda at next meeting
- Mt. Vernon Drop Zone update
- Meeting at Todo Mexico on April 5. This discussion was about the Mt. Vernon DZ.
- Mt. Vernon spoke of requiring 2 memberships. Their own club membership and Seattle Skydivers.
- Discussion of difficulties in operating the DZ.
- Skydive Snohomish
- Potential issue if urgent medical care is needed. Discussed EMS funding.

- Canopy collisions over the past few months – keep aware.
