Unfinished Business
- Safety Day: Tyson reported that it was better attended than last year by 21! There were a total of 71 people there. Some from Canada, some who were not current and used the day to get current. One person did a tandem then signed up for the jump course. The formation load at the end of the day got to practice safety as they all landed out! Spot of the year?
- Al Zilk: May 7th. Bill agreed to be in charge of the BBQ. Hank and April will handle the pancake breakfast with Kimberly helping. It should start around 8:30.
- The club room or skydivers lounge: Bill and Hank will get a date set and start the committee to get the proposal together for Tyson.
- Pull up cords: We will pay for the materials and Vic will do new ones. The old ones will have the incorrect web address blocked out.
- Food Drive: Vic gave the food to a food bank, as previously reported. he received a letter from them and they gave the credit to "Harvey Field Skydivers". The intent was good.
- Brian Germain: The club is paying his airfare which will be between $320 and $420. We also have a $100 donation from Alan Christofferson that will go towards it. Skydive Snohomish has an account set up and is accepting $50 deposits to hold your spot in the class. They are getting out of state calls and calls from Canada. Space is limited so reserve your spot soon! Elaine should have a flyer ready soon with more details.
New Business
- Web Site: Spencer's company was hosting it. They have not asked us to move it. Bryan found a company that will do it for $5 a month if we pay for a year, Dot5Hosting. They have all the bells and whistles that will make it easier to update the site. JD made a motion to move to Dot5Hosting, Elaine seconded and all approved. Thanks Bryan for looking into this.
- Vengeance is bringing John Hamilton up for a coaching weekend in August. He could coach others or do a seminar. JD suggested that he do load organizing. Deb will talk to John about it.
- Profiles: Pennie Petruzzello will take this on as a way to get to know everyone better. She will begin interviewing and taking pictures. Kimberly suggested that we keep a three ring binder at the drop zone with info sheets on everyone. She will talk to Penny about the idea.
Announcements
- JD announced that his teammates ROCK!
- April suggested that we for a Seattle Skydivers team and do the Great Stride Walk to benefit cystic fibrosis. It is held on May 22rd at noon. Contact April if you are interested in being on the team. Dive dollars could be given out also.
- Hank and Vic judged the French accuracy team at the Arizona Classics.
- April 9th: RW coaching with Vengeance. Look for rain.
- April 15th: SIS meeting. New time 7:30.
- May 5th: Next meeting at Todo Mexico. Sunset will be 8:30 so the time of the meeting was changed to gather at 7:30 and start the meeting at 8:00.
- May 29th: Green Meet.
Safety Report
- Luke reported that he broke two lines and that a tri-braced canopy will fly just fine with broken lines. Good idea to replace them at about 500 jumps.
Meeting adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
